Filgolfin Challenges Morgoth to a Duel

The first High King of the Noldor arrives at the doors of Angband in the north and calls Morgoth out, challenging him to a duel to the death. Before him Morgoth was like a dark shadow holding the Silamrils in his crown of iron, but Fingolfin gleamed beneath it as a star; for his mail was overlaid with silver, and his blue shield was set with crystals; and he drew his sword Ringil, that glittered like ice.
